On New Year’s Eve 2024, Thomas Heise begins filming ÜBERGANG. His idea: a “Heimatfilm” centered on Berlin’s Schönhauser Allee, where he has lived for decades. The author himself is to become a character in the film.
A few months later, Heise falls ill and dies. The small team continues the filming. From Heise’s estate and various archives, they recover unpublished texts and images, assembling fragments of a lived history.
